Jazz-folk fusion. A collision of Nordic vocals, Mediterranean textures, and improvisational fire.
Alternative rock trio. Raw guitars, driving rhythms, and melodies that cut through.
Nick Athens (b. 1990, Athens, Greece) is a film composer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist. A graduate of the University of Westminster with a Bachelor's in Music Theory and Composition, he combines traditional and experimental techniques to craft unique soundscapes.
His filmography includes scores for What Mary Didn't Know (2024) by Konstantina Kotzamani, Light Falls (2024) by Phaedon Papamichail, and Super (2023) by Nikolas Kouloglou. His compositions range from intimate guitar-and-vocal arrangements to experimental modular synth textures, metalophone resonances, and full 60-piece orchestral scores.
In Light Falls, trembling violins evoke uncertainty, their delicate tremor mirroring the fragility of the characters' situation. The sweeping main theme becomes a sonic representation of perseverance in the face of overwhelming odds.
Beyond film, Nick has composed over 120 pieces for advertising, including international campaigns. In 2022, he collaborated with Google Creative Labs, The City of Athens, and the Hellenic Ministry of Tourism to create curated audio walks using Google Maps.
